to spend a rainy afternoon... and there was plenty to eat!
It tastes better if you make it with chicken stock than water! I had some homemade in the fridge. AND you can make it in the oven! (and stir it every ten minutes) AND to get it more crunchy when you fry it, you can oil the sides of the squares. I learned...
Thank you, Laurie, for my new bag! And I got this baby at Whole Foods...well, we needed it to cook our pot roast on Christmas Eve! And I needed a birthday present. It was delicious!

Mizzuna, roasted beets, some raw baby carrots and sauteed broccoli with roasted pork...lemon zest and olive oil with lemon...oh, and edamame!
Something made me cook dinner early... so that when the power went off (notice there are no lights on out the window)...the rice was cooked... the chicken and artichokes too...if I didn't open the oven door for a while. I'm glad for the wine.
